Bourdais: “We shouldn’t have run”

The joy of Buemi at the finish of this Chinese Grand Prix contrasted once again with Sébastien?s disappointment Bourdais. For a moment in the top 10, the Frenchman made several errors which took him away from the points: “I started fifteenth and finished eleventh, even with a few spins. My feelings are mixed, because I don't think we should have competed in this race. There was too much aquaplanning. The cars have less downforce than in the past and that makes the situation worse, it's very difficult to keep the car on the track. I could have done 15 or 20 more spins and the Sutil accident shows how it could have ended. The only positive thing is that this race must have been interesting for spectators to follow. »

Flamboyant in this race, since he had the luxury of overtaking two World Champions, Sébastien Buemi put in a solid performance: “I think it was the most difficult race of my career! I'm very happy, the team did a fantastic job to allow me to score this extra point. It?s good to have scored twice in three races. Maybe I could have done a little better, but that's okay. We were very competitive at the start of the race, which allowed me to pass Raikkonen and Hamilton. Then it was more difficult. »

This dream situation could have turned into the worst nightmare when the Toro Rosso touched the Red Bull from the leader: “It?s true that I touched Sebastian Vettel while we were under safety car regime. I simply didn't see him and moved to the right, but it wasn't enough to avoid contact. We changed the front wing on my car and I'm relieved that it didn't affect its running? »
