Bourdais reacts: shocked, but not dejected!

By dismissing its driver after nine races, the Italian team has, according to Bourdais, broken his contract: “I am disappointed and shocked by the decision taken by the Team Toro Rosso to no longer allow me to drive for her until the end of the season. I believe that by making this choice, the team did not respect its contractual obligations towards me. I also think that nothing in my attitude, on or off the track, could justify this decision. This is a clear violation of Scuderia Toro Rosso's obligations under the contract in place. Therefore, I have asked my lawyers to investigate the situation, including the possibility of taking legal action. »

Sébastien Bourdais also regrets not being able to take advantage of the technical developments promised for the Hungarian GP: “It is very frustrating to have to give up competing in this Grand Prix because the team is supposed to have a large number of new technical features intended to resolve some of the difficulties it has encountered so far. I am convinced that if I had had the opportunity to drive a car equipped with these developments, I would have been able to achieve satisfactory results. »

Disappointed but not defeated, Bourdais says he is still focused on F1. The arrival of three new teams in 2010 could indeed allow it to bounce back: “I would finally like to thank all my fans for their support and to reassure them of my motivation, which is intact. I remain very involved in my F1 project, the one for which I gave up my career in the United States. »
