Brawn: Mercedes without Schumi

Michael Schumacher is no longer a challenge away. After agreeing to replace Felipe Massa at Ferrari during the European Grand Prix before withdrawing due to neck pain, the seven-time world champion could join Mercedes GP. However, the hypothesis seems very unlikely and Ross Brawn provides confirmation.

Questioned by Bild, the team manager of the Mercedes GP team - formerly Brawn GP - thinks that the hypothesis is just pleasant for the public and the media. “ I know that the question occupies a lot of media attention, attests Brawn. But there is nothing to say. The media tries to make a dream come true »

For the ?big bear?, a nickname affectionately given to Ross Brawn, Michael Schumacher is not up for playing an entire season of F1. « Michael is said to have returned to driving for Ferrari, but only temporarily. He has no ambition to start a new career. »

Earlier, Willi Weber, Schumi's agent, confirmed that the driver had met Dr Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Mercedes, and Norbert Haug, boss of Mercedes Motorsport, during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in early November. As for Sabrina Kehm, spokesperson for the driver, a return from Schumacher is “ unlikely » but prefers to temper his opinion by asserting that? “ we never know ».
