Brawn, reinforced domination

At the start of the European Grands Prix, the entire paddock hoped for only one thing: evolution, improvement. For the trailing teams, the goal was to catch up with the Brawn. But the first three GPs contested on the old continent have further strengthened the domination of the team of Brackley : 3 races, 3 uncontested victories. It could therefore be that Ross Brawn's team has achieved the greatest progress in recent weeks. Jenson Button recognizes him easily, his car is a very nice tool: I really have to thank the whole team. The car today was the best of all the ones I have had to drive since the start of the season. Everything is improving, everything is more efficient and becomes perfect from race to race. The car was truly fantastic, diabolical. I would have liked to see all the mechanics on the podium with me! »

Second on the starting grid, the leader of the world championship was quickly able to take the lead, following a mistake. Sebastian Vettel : " I was happy with my start and being able to be second in the first corner. For half the lap, I followed him well. Then I took advantage of his exit to the open sea to overtake him. »

Then, it was almost just a formality for the Briton, who took advantage of an open track to set good times, even if Sebastian Vettel threatened him for a moment: “ He was lighter in his second stint, he put pressure on me. But I tried not to panic, not to make mistakes, to stay in front of him and contain him, concentrating on my driving. I think that Red Bull were in our pace in this Grand Prix. But my car was perfect. » If Brawn works as well in the coming weeks, it could well be that the championship will be played before the end of the summer.
