Brian Hart dies aged 77

Brian Hart died at the age of 77 after writing his name in the history of engine manufacturers in the F1. Arrived in the universe of car as a driver, the Briton first distinguished himself by winning races in different training disciplines including the Championship of F2 European before turning to the preparation and operation of engines in F2. Brian Hart Limited launched its first engine in 1976 and joined forces with Toleman a few years later, which allowed the structure to climb into F1.

Brian Hart Limited begins to design a 1.5l turbo which turns out to be very uncompetitive. But things would improve afterwards, Toleman taking ninth place in the Championship in 1983 and seventh the following season while Brian Hart decided to expand his clientele with Ram Racing, Spirit Racing and even Haas Lola. The removal of the turbo pushed Brian Hart to then develop Cosworth engines for customer teams. It was in 1993 that he returned as a full-fledged engine builder with Jordan before moving to Footwork/Arrows.
