Briatore: Vettel finally exists in the eyes of Italians

The departure of Sebastian Vettel around the Team Ferrari was one of the big transfers of last year. The four-time world champion, already nicknamed “Baby Schumi”, will be eagerly awaited by fans who hope to relive the glorious era of the Schumi era.

Flavio Briatore was in the front row to observe the change in attitude of the Italians towards the replacement of Fernando Alonso. “The impact in Italy is incredible because they never talked about Vettel, but he has become the driver of the past and the future now that he is at Ferrari. It's as if Vettel didn't exist before », commented the former director of Renault Sport F1 to the Italian channel Sky Sport 24.

“I think Vettel is a good driver, probably one of the five or six best in the field. He was unbeatable when he had a car competitive, but it's not enough to compare it to Schumacher or Senna », added Flavio Briatore.
