Briatore wants a million euros

Flavio Briatore, the day after his lifetime ban from FIA competitions, promised that he was not going to stop there. Last month, the former team manager of Renault F1 had announced that he was bringing the matter before the civil courts, in order to obtain an annulment of the sanctions imposed by the FIA ​​(see elsewhere).

Now, according to the Guardian, the whimsical Italian is demanding a million euros to repair the damage, in terms of image, caused by the ?crashgate? scandal. and sanctions caused by the FIA ​​World Council. Flavio Briatore, to justify his request, affirms that the sanctions which were pronounced against him by a man, Max Mosley, “ completely blinded by an excessive desire for personal revenge. »

For the Italian businessman, the FIA, and its former president in the first place, has exceeded its function. “ The decision to carry out an investigation and submit it to the World Council were taken by the same person, the FIA ​​President », Quotes the Guardian.

Pending developments in this matter, Flavio Briatore has been banned for life from competitions governed by the FIA. The former Renault F1 team manager received this sanction following the revelations of Nelson Piquet Jr's voluntary accident during the Singapore Grand Prix in 2008.
