Brown responds to Szafnauer's criticism, not without humor

In the verbal ping-pong that Otmar Szafnauer and Zak Brown have been engaged in since the verdict in the Racing Point brake duct affair, the boss of McLaren fired a furious forehand on Friday at a press conference in Barcelona.

Last week, Brown stepped up to the plate as soon as the stewards' report was made public. “IThey always claimed they copied the car using photographs, pointed out the Californian. When reading the document, it is obvious that this is bullshit ».

Shortly afterwards, his compatriot Szafnauer responded sharply by asserting that Brown knew nothing about motorsport because he was not an engineer and was only interested in historic vehicles.

Asked about these comments in Catalonia, Brown did not miss the opportunity to target his Racing Point counterpart. All in innuendo.

« There is a lot of truth in what Otmar said, began the boss of McLaren Racing in a playful tone. I am not an engineer. I don't know the rules from A to Z. As the owner of a racing team, it is your responsibility to know the rules. Since I've been running McLaren, I've never been fined even a dollar, let alone 400. I've never had any points taken away.

I think Otmar thought he had lost 7,5 points before Sky informed him that the penalty was 15 points. As for historic vehicles, people who know me know that I actually love them. I would also like to invite Otmar to one of our meetings because he currently operates a car also vintage. You see, this is all part of the fun of a racing weekend. F1 ».

Let's salute Brown's witticism even if it reinforces the idea that F1 is undermined by political squabbles and murderous little phrases.
