Buemi and Bourdais disappointed

Sébastien Bourdais will be positioned, on Sunday, in the last position on the starting grid. Handicapped this morning by a technical problem in free practice, the Frenchman regrets car lacking performance. “My first run was okay, better than I imagined, so I was rather optimistic,” analyzes Bourdais. “But on my second attempt, I suffered from a lot of understeer which we corrected by playing with the front wing for my last run. But suddenly the behavior went to the opposite, with too much oversteer. The car is very sensitive to the changes we make and we suffer from a lack of downforce and therefore a lack of grip. It's disappointing to finish so far. »

Sébastien Buemi, for his part, was considering qualifying in Q2, but a small mistake compromised his plans. “Without a mistake in the third sector, I would have qualified for Q2 without any problem,” says the Swiss. “I am disappointed with my performance, because the car worked better than we had expected. However, I believe that we can have a good race tomorrow, because our qualification does not reflect our real level of performance. So I hope to be able to gain a few positions tomorrow. How much ? It's hard to say? Concerning the tires, it is obvious that the softer ones will be the ones we will use the most in the race. »
