Button champion from Suzuka?

With 15 points ahead of his teammate Rubens Barrichello, Jenson Button (Brawn GP) can hope to win the world crown this weekend at Suzuka where the Japanese GP takes place. Thus, the Briton must simply leave the archipelago with 20 points ahead of his pursuers, Rubens Barrichello and Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), the last two drivers who can still hope to dethrone Button at the end of the season. But with 25 points behind, Vettel knows that his chances of getting on the top step of the podium after the Abu Dhabi GP, the last round of the year, are low.

Here are the different scenarios available to Jenson Button if he wants to secure the world title on Sunday evening.

Button champion if:

-He wins and Barrichello does not do better than 4th
-He finished second and Barrichello did no better than 6th
-He finished third and Barrichello did no better than 8th
-He finishes fourth and Barrichello does not finish in the points

Finally, Brawn GP can also win the Manufacturers' title from Suzuka. Only the Red Bull team can stop him. To do this, she must reduce the gap by 11 points. If many observers think that the Brawn GP team can win the two titles this weekend, Ross Brawn, the director, wants to be cautious. “ Until it's done, it's not done ", did he declare.
