Button disappointed for Toyota

Jenson Button, témoin du retrait d?un constructeur quand Honda s?est désengagé de l?écurie de laquelle il faisait partie (désormais Brawn GP), a réagi à la décision de Toyota de se retirer de la Formula 1. " It's sad », admitted the world champion on Wednesday in Beijing, where he was competing in the Race of Champions.

« I thought they could have continued “, continued the Briton for the BBC. “ But they couldn't. It's a shame for F1 but also for Toyota. I hope we can continue without them. »

The Brawn GP driver is particularly waiting to see what the teams that will debut in 2010 will bring. Some new teams are arriving but they will not be competitive from the start. So it's a shame (that Toyota is leaving F1) but they have their reasons, like Honda had theirs. »

On a personal level, the British driver has still not extended his contract, which ends at the end of 2009, with Brawn GP. “ I said I would discuss next year after the races, and so I will, but I have nothing more to say today. It doesn't annoy me. It just takes time. »
