Button and Räikkönen little tempted by Formula E

Last weekend in London, the first Formula E championship crowned a former resident of the Formula 1 in the person of the Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr. This Thursday, during the traditional press conference for the British Grand Prix, Jenson Button and Kimi Räikkönen were questioned about a potential reconversion. Their response had the merit of being clear.

“I watched a race this year not for the cars themselves, but for the drivers, specifies the pilot McLaren. There are a lot of drivers I have raced against over the years. There are thirteen ex-F1 drivers, and that's what makes the category exciting. I think there is a place for electric racing? It’s not something I’m passionate about. I love the smell, the noise and the speed, and F1 represents all of that. »

Same opinion regarding Kimi Räikkönen, who nevertheless notes that the discipline has laid the foundations for the future. “It’s not going fast. This doesn't seem very spectacular. It is from my point of view, very slow. It's something that doesn't really excite me. »
