Yes, it's true, but it could have gone very badly. I let (Robert) Kubica pass who I thought was on a fast lap. Which was not the case. I slowed down to leave some distance between us and not be embarrassed. But this meant that I only crossed the starting line four seconds before the end of the Q3 countdown. So it?s more luck than good timing to have done this trick so late. But I'm very happy, it's my best time of the weekend, by far. It was really a surprise for me so when I heard I had pole I was very happy.

With the evolution of all single-seaters, you must be happy to keep control?
We did excellent work. This new aero package is a step forward but we still have to work on it. I think we haven't yet gotten the most out of the car. I hope so. We are both in the top three, we have taken the right direction. Those who worked hard Brackley, and who watch us do these times, must be happy. However, we must monitor Ferrari, they have made a lot of progress. Massa was very fast on Saturday. They caught up very quickly, it's surprising. I didn't know this statistic. I didn't look at who took pole each year. But it?s important to be there because it?s very difficult to overtake. The cars behind us are very fast, so I hope to be able to keep the lead at the start until the first corner. You know, we've had some problems with departures this season. But when we got off to a good start, the starts were very good. So I hope I will do one of those during the race. A priori, the Srec (which Massa is equipped with and not Button) gives an advantage of ten meters until the first turn. If Massa gets off to a good start, it will be a problem for me.
