Button, just a perfect ride

Jenson, being on pole in Monaco must be a great satisfaction because this Grand Prix is one of the most demanding on the calendar?
Yes, even if they all have great importance. Today it was a very close fight. All weekend I fought with Rubens and he often had the upper hand. The McLarens were present, the Ferrari also, the Red Bull, Williams? It?s a very good weekend, for us drivers, and I hope also for the viewers. It?s great to come out of qualifying with pole. I was really at the limit to grab this pole.

Can you describe this exciting lap that gave you pole?
Yes, I was riding very close to the edges. I thought I was even going to leave for the port! It was a very good lap and I was able to get the most out of the car, push it to the limit. It's the best ride I've done this weekend. On Thursday, I had to fight a bit to familiarize myself with the circuit. We then worked a lot and, in Q3, she was really good. This is what allowed me to achieve one of the best laps I have ever done.

You seem unbeatable right now. Are you able to take advantage of this situation where everything seems to be smiling on you?
Of course, I appreciate the moment. But I have to stay focused for the race. It?s a lot more stressful than you think. It seems silly but the fact is that, when you are in this situation, you want to stay there. At this time of the season, it is important for me to be in front and take points. Even if it is difficult to overtake in Monaco, I know that Rubens (Barrichello) and Kimi (Räikkönen) are two very great drivers and the race will not be easy.
