Button: “The most beautiful race”

Jenson Button, at the foot of the podium at Interlagos, eclipsed the performance of the men who were able to taste the Champagne reserved for the first three of a Grand Prix. After his fifth place, the Briton was able to come out of his reserve and celebrate a title which had been reaching out to him since his six victories at the start of the season.

However, starting from fourteenth place, the Brawn driver went for the points securing him the title, while Sebastian Vettel and especially Rubens Barrichello were unable to force destiny. “ It was the best race of my entire career », recognizes the new world champion.

Jenson Button, sharing his happiness with his loved ones and his entire team, thinks of all the people who allowed him to win his title this year. “ For the team, winning the drivers' and constructors' titles here is truly fantastic. It?s deserved after all the difficult times we went through during the winter. »

Although he is world champion, the Briton recognizes that this title was not easy to win. “ This season took me through ups and downs, with the joy of the victories at the start of the season and the difficulty of the second half of the season where we had to take the points to get the title. »

At the wheel of a car which outrageously dominated the start of the season, Jenson Button knows that he was lucky to count on a car efficient, thanks in particular to an engine which has never known any weaknesses. “ I would like to thank Norbert Haug and the whole team Mercedes for their support throughout the year. Without their participation and belief in the team, and the fantastic drive they provided us, we would not have been able to achieve the success we achieved. »

Having won the world crown, Jenson Button knows that he owes his success to many people, without being able to name them. “ The list of people I would like to personally thank is too long but everyone knows how much they have meant to me over the years. »

The Briton, after the race, just wanted to take advantage of this title so coveted by all professional drivers. “ I will celebrate the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. I'm going to be able to have a hell of a party! »
