Button: “The gap is small”

“It’s always a pretty special weekend, especially for me who is based in Monaco,” explains Jenson. “This will be my first home Grand Prix before the British Grand Prix next month. »

“To be leading in both championships going into this race is fantastic but, as we saw in Barcelona, the gap is small. We will be up against a lot of competitive cars. My driving style is very fine but I will have to change it a little to get the best out of the car. We have to be more aggressive in Monaco and not let ourselves be intimidated by the barriers. You have to be focused and precise. »

According to the Briton, a large part of the race will be decided on Saturday: “Qualifying promises to be very exciting because the positions on the grid are decisive on this circuit. It is almost impossible to overtake in the race, so it will be important to start from the front. »

On the podium in 2004, Jenson Button remains in three consecutive eleventh positions.
