Button can only get back on track

Jenson Button looked like a title contender at the start of the season after winning in Melbourne and taking second place in China. But the pilot McLaren has only scored three top ten finishes since then, his last having been achieved last weekend at Silverstone where the 2009 world champion painfully took the point of tenth place taking advantage of a mistake Nico Hulkenberg (Force India). His poor performances put him out of the title race and even dropped his team to fourth place in the Championship behind Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus F1 Team. The Briton is therefore waiting as quickly as possible to resolve the lack of rhythm from which his MP4-27 suffers.

The former world champion is convinced that he will be able to turn things around during the season even if he does not know when he will be able to fight at the forefront again. “I haven't been in the title race for a few races, I'm just driving and taking as many points as possible even if it remains difficult for me”, admits Jenson Button, who now occupies eighth place in the Championship, 79 points behind the leader Fernando Alonso. “We have to get out of this situation because we can't afford to end the season like this, we have to improve. We will have a technical meeting (this Thursday), I am sure everyone will work hard to make the car progress. It is a team that has won many titles and its two drivers have also been world champions. Additionally, she has been very competitive in recent years. »
