Button feels no pressure for Monaco

Jenson Button judges that the last six months spent outside a cockpit will not be detrimental to him for this weekend. The replacement of Fernando Alonso even preferred not to participate in a test session on the Sakhir circuit with the MCL32 when he had the opportunity.

“One of the options was to do a half day in Bahrain, declares the Briton at a press conference, which I refused to do because it's totally different. I told the team it would be better to spend a few days in the simulator. I've spent a lot of time there and I'm starting to get used to it. »

Jenson Button will not have the easy task of getting to know a car that is larger than the season spent between the rails of Monaco. The winner of the event in 2009, however, continues to insist that he does not feel any particular pressure for this Grand Prix.

“I’m going to get in the car and do the best I can. You want to be competitive and get the most out of the car: that hasn't changed. I don’t feel any particular pressure”, insists the pilot McLaren who retired last year.

The only worry for Jenson Button: his neck, which will be more stressed than with the F1 from last year.
