Button resurfaces against Sauber drivers

Si McLaren especially regrets the poor performance of Lewis Hamilton who abandoned his title hopes with tenth place in Yeongam, Jenson Button was not in better spirits since he retired from the first moments of the race with a torn front suspension after an accident caused by Kamui Kobayashi. The 2009 world champion, who only started from eleventh place on the grid, had first contact with Sergio Perez before Kamui Kobayashi spoiled the race for the Briton and Nico Rosberg. The Japanese finally retired on the 16th lap.

Jenson Button did not hide his annoyance after this disappointing Korean result which pushed McLaren back behind Ferrari in the Manufacturers' Championship. “I got a good start and overtook Michael (Schumacher) to find myself alongside Nico (Rosberg) at the moment when Perez arrived out of nowhere and collided with the car in the front ", explained Jenson Button on the BBC microphone. “I went wide and took Nico with me and we left with the Saubers behind us. I braked really late and I'm sure Nico did the same and suddenly I heard a crash on the right side and Kamui came like a rocket. I don't know how he was able to touch us both, it was quite special. It's really sad to see this at this level of competition which is considered the pinnacle of motorsport. This is not a simple mistake, it is a big mistake. There are so many opportunities (to overtake) here, whether with the tires or with the DRS. It's a great circuit for overtaking and it's surprising to see drivers driving like this. »
