The British Grand Prix is inexorably refused to Jenson Button. After the pilot McLaren distinguished himself in qualifying by taking third place on the grid, the Briton failed at the foot of the podium with less than a second behind the Red Bull de Daniel Ricciardo who was suffering with his tires. “I was so close to the podium... It would have been fantastic for the spectators if I joined Lewis. I'm sorry it didn't happen, but I want to thank all the fans and my family, not forgetting the entire McLaren team. If we have taken the next step, we still have work to do. Williams was still stronger than us as they started behind. We are not going to give up. On the contrary, we must develop the car in order to win as many points as possible and prepare for the next season. »
Jenson Button is still satisfied with this fourth place. If the Briton only signs his third top 5 of the season, this result comes at the right time after Ron Dennis recalibrated his driver by asking him to obtain better performances. The message appears to have been well received. “Tracks with high speed changes of direction don't really suit our car so we can really be encouraged after what we achieved at Silverstone. It was particularly satisfying after having had a great fight with Fernando (Alonso) and get ahead of Sebastian (Hag) in the last relay. »
