The season of F1 The 2026 season will open in Australia on the weekend of March 6-8 and close in Abu Dhabi in early December (from the 4th to the 6th). Among other expected changes, Canada and Monaco are swapping places on the calendar, with the Montreal Grand Prix taking place from May 22-24 and the Monaco Grand Prix from June 5-7, reflecting a desire to optimize the scheduling of the various Grands Prix. The new date for the Canadian Grand Prix puts it in direct competition with the Indianapolis 500, which will be held on the same day.
The Hungarian Grand Prix returns to its position as the final race before the summer break, a role previously held at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The Spa race is moved up a bit in the calendar and will take place from July 17th to 19th, two weeks after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Barcelona retains its place on the calendar as expected, meaning two Grands Prix will be held in Spain. The Catalan race will take place from June 12th to 14th, the same weekend as the... 24 Hours of Le Mans.
