Carlin not ready for F1

Trevor Carlin made the information disappear as quickly as it appeared. This Friday, the Finnish press announced the British team's candidacy to become the thirteenth team in the 2011 field of Formula 1. This afternoon, the English team fought back and affirmed that they were not ready to take on such a role.

« Although Formula 1 may be a long term goal for our team, we have not submitted a bid for the 2011 season and are not in a position to do so., explains Trevor Carlin, boss of the team. We are totally focused on our current programs and are putting all our strength into establishing ourselves in these categories. »

Since the start of the season, Carlin has performed very well in these disciplines. In Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Mikhail Aleshin, who returned to the British team last winter, occupies the lead in the general driver standings, having won two of the seven races at the start of the season. In British F3, the best of the Carlin drivers, Jean-Eric Vergne, also occupies the lead in the standings, with five victories in twelve races. On the other hand, in the GP3 Series, the English team has not yet had the opportunity to distinguish itself.
