Carlos Ghosn considers all options for Renault

Carlos Ghosn spoke about the future prospects of Renault during a press conference held on Sunday June 28 in the London ePrix paddock. The CEO of Renault-Nissan was notably asked about the options considered by the Losange in F1, while the engine manufacturer of Viruses-Châtillon must support the remarks of Red Bull, its partner-client.

Renault was notably interested in Lotus F1 Team which would represent a viable choice without generating an explosion of expenses. “We will respect our short-term contracts with our client teams”, promised Carlos Ghosn. “We have to study the different options and define a new strategy because the position of engine manufacturer is not advantageous because the credit for victory goes to the car while the engine is blamed in case of defeat... The prospect of taking over a team would make sense, but we could also invest in other areas."

Carlos Ghosn was also invited to speak on Nissan's poor performance in 24 Hours of Le Mans. “Nissan has always been linked to innovation. We made an attempt which did not bear fruit and we will have to review the strategy. We wanted to be different and competitive, but we were just different » added the Franco-Brazilian businessman.
