Carlos Sainz Jr: My first real day of testing

Author of 46 laps at the end ofa first day prematurely interrupted, the Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr was the second most diligent driver on the track this Tuesday with 137 laps on the clock.

“It was a great day for me and I really enjoyed what I consider my first real day of testing. Formula 1, indicates the 20-year-old pilot. Reaching 137 laps was an achievement. All the credit for achieving such a distance goes to the work of everyone in the team, the mechanics working day and night here at the track and also everyone at the factory. They did a great job and I was able to learn a lot from them. »

Phil Charles, the chief race engineer, also believes that the son of the two-time world rally champion was able to work on tire management, as well as on general performance in the morning. The Dutch Max Verstappen will find the steering wheel of the car from the stable of Faenza tomorrow for the conclusion of these first winter tests at Jerez in Spain.
