Starting 19th after his team's decision to change its power unit, Carlos Sainz quickly moved up the peloton this Sunday at the Turkish Grand Prix since he was already on the verge of points after ten laps of the race. The Spaniard then erased Sebastian Vettel to make his appearance in the top 10, which he did not leave until the end of a race finished in 8th place and where he was named driver of the day.

A comeback that Carlos Sainz could have taken even higher if he had not lost a lot of time in a failed stop by his team. “It was very enjoyable to be honest, probably one of my most enjoyable races as a racing driver, declared the resident of the Team Ferrari. When you have the pace I had today and a track that allows you to overtake – especially when it's wet – it was a pleasure. I was able to push very hard, it's obviously a shame about the pit stop which took away our possibility of finishing in the top five today but that's how it is. Congratulations to the team because today's car was really fun to drive. » In the championship, Sainz occupies sixth place… with 0,5 points ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc.
