Like everyone else, he waited for almost 40 minutes, without ever getting off his Brawn F1. When his team announced to him that the race was not going to restart, and therefore his victory, he seemed the first to be surprised by this success. Everything did not start ideally for Jenson Button, but for him everything ended well today.

“It was a crazy race,” explained the Briton at a press conference. “I got off to a bad start, with a car that was moving a lot from the rear. I managed to surpass Fernando Alonso then I returned to contact with the leaders. Ultimately, everything was okay at that moment. »

Then the rain came? “It became very difficult with the rain. The choices to make were delicate. We opted for “full wet” or we needed the intermediaries. So I went back to change tires, but then it started raining hard again. Return to the pits for rain tires and fortunately I emerge in front of my opponents. The conditions were terrible. We couldn't see anything. Behind the safety car, my team asked me not to make a mistake and to bring the car back. But I couldn't follow the Safety Car! I am happy with this victory, but I have yet to win a race this season when I saw the checkered flag! »

Happy, Jenson Button leaves Malaysia still leading the F1 World Championship, five points ahead of his teammate, Rubens Barrichello.
