Caterham confirms its presence at the Abu Dhabi GP

The administrators announced that Caterham F1 Team would compete in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 23 thanks to the funds raised by the crowdfunding set up. The Leafield team should field paying drivers in order to cover its costs and will therefore communicate their identities soon, while the structure is currently preparing its trip.

“The public made the impossible possible in just one week”, commented Finbarr O'Connell, the administrator of Caterham Sports Ltd. “We knew the best way to keep this team alive and attract potential buyers was to prove it was still a competitive team and be there for the final in Abu Dhabi. There are no words strong enough to express my gratitude to the public. »

However, the objective of three million euros has not yet been reached. The crowdfunding page shows a result of 79% a little more than hours before the ultimatum, i.e. an increase of almost 20% in less than two hours. “We go to Abu Dhabi ready to demonstrate how hard this team works and to secure a future for this team.”, added Finbarr O'Connell. “Interest from potential buyers has increased tenfold in recent days... We still need money, so please keep an eye on theCrowdcube website."
