Caterham F1 wants 'at least one experienced driver'

Caterham F1 Team will call on an experienced driver according to the words of a spokesperson for Tony Fernandes' team in an interview with Sky Sports Online. The Leafield structure will need a leader capable of developing a car which will consist of many new elements with the regulations for the 2014 season. The Japanese Kamui Kobayashi and the Finn Heikki Kovalainen seem more serious contenders than ever.

« There are many drivers linked to Caterham at the moment and this is very good news for us., commented the Caterham F1 Team spokesperson to our British colleagues. “It’s flattering to have such an experienced, talented and popular driver as Kobayashi listed with our team. We will make an announcement in due course. There are several drivers as experienced as Kamui to consider. I think you can imagine that we need at least one experienced single-seater driver this year. »

Caterham F1 Team is the only team not to have revealed its drivers, its rival Marussia having already confirmed Jules Bianchi for this season. However, the first winter tests will be held on January 28 in Jérez. “We made our announcement a little late last year and we don’t plan to do the same thing this year.”, underlined the team spokesperson. “We’re really, really close to making an announcement. We still have two weeks ahead of us but we don't plan to use all the time at our disposal. »
