Caterham reflects on Kovalainen's departure

“Heikki had a special career, declared the Frenchman on the Sky Sports website, but I think it was interesting for us to look towards the future, about people with a lot of energy, or who want something new. Sometimes you have to face reality when you reach the end or get close to it. »

Abiteboul also returned to the causes of this divorce: “I think it came from both sides. Let's be honest, I think we disappointed our drivers. We almost let them down, in the sense that we failed in the promise we made to them. »

Remember that the Caterham team will have as its driver the Frenchman Charles Pic and the Dutchman Giedo Van Der Garde, who will compete respectively in their second and first season in Formula 1. A “crazy” decision according to Lewis Hamilton, who greatly regretted the absence of Heikki Kovalainen last season.
