What will change on the 2026 engine?

As already announced, the 2026 season will see the implementation of a new power unit – the first since the F1 introduced turbo-hybrid V2014 engines in 6. If the current 1.6 liter internal combustion unit is retained, the flow – now measured and limited according to energy rather than mass or volume – of the fuel which will be “100% sustainable” will be reduced ( from 100 kg/h to 70-80 kg/h) to produce approximately 400 kW of power (approximately 540 hp). The current MGU-H unit (thermal generator engine mounted on the turbo) of the hybrid system will be completely removed (as well as the variable air intake trumpets) and standard components (we are thinking of the turbo) will be generalized in order to contain
