Red Bull's stubbornness with Checo Pérez

It took much less for the Horner-Marko duo to separate from Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon when these two couldn't hold their own Max Verstappen. And yet, Sergio Pérez is still there, despite very insufficient results. His crucial role during Abu Dhabi 2021 in Max's title quest alone justified his continuation in 2022, where he managed to win twice at the start of the season. But his inability to become vice-world champion against Charles Leclerc, and the fact that he finished almost… 300 points behind Verstappen in the championship last year ended up seriously weakening him.
