Finishing eighth in the Australian Grand Prix in his Formula 1 debut, Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls) is one of those drivers who scored points in their very first race. A rare feat achieved by only a handful of rookies in the last twenty years, but what became of them?

Scoring points in your very first Grand Prix remains one of the most remarkable debuts possible for a driver. Formula 1In a discipline where rookies have to discover complex cars, often unable to fight for victories, during very demanding weekends and with an extremely high level of competitiveness, immediately entering the top 10 is already a certain performance, which only 81 drivers have achieved to date.

However, over the last twenty years, this number has dropped to 17 drivers, including the most recent, Arvid Lindblad. Some went on to build long careers in Formula 1, while others have since left the sport as full-time drivers to find success elsewhere, or not. There's some less good (a fleeting appearance), some good (several years on the grid without any victories), some very good (GP winners) and even some excellent examples in the list of these rookies who scored points in their first GP, since we find 3 World Champions among these 17!
