The timing is obviously no coincidence. Warner Bros., the studio in charge of production, has chosen the weekend of the Australian Grand Prix, the first round of the 2025 season. Formula 1, to unveil his first long trailer for his film “F1”.
Until now, fans have been treated to two sequences of less than a minute, mostly racing footage. This time, the trailer really immerses them in the film's storyline, in which we see how Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, was convinced to come out of retirement and be called back to Formula 1 for one last challenge. That of forming part of the brand new APX GP team alongside his young teammate and rookie Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.
As a reminder, “F1” was filmed in real racing conditions. It has not been uncommon to see Brad Pitt in the paddock over the past two years, as well as an 11th garage on many circuits during Grand Prix races. Produced in collaboration with Formula 1, and filmed during the actual World Championship Grands Prix, the film will offer an immersion into the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1.,” the production explained in the past.
As for the sequel, “F1” will be available internationally in theaters on June 25 and June 27 in the United States.
