Oscar piastri continues his winning ways. The Australian won his third race of the season at the Saudi Arabian GP. Starting from the front row, the driver McLaren took advantage of the penalty Max Verstappen – who cut the first corner on the first lap to maintain the advantage – to take the lead in Jeddah.
With this third victory in five rounds, Oscar Piastri logically takes the lead of the championship for the first time in his career. The Aussie now has 99 points and overtakes his teammate. Lando Norris (89 points). Max Verstappen remains in contact with the two McLaren drivers with 87 points thanks to this new podium. George Russell (73 points), 4th in the championship, is starting to be dropped by the three leaders.
In the Constructors' Championship, McLaren continues to take the lead with 188 points, a large lead of 77 points over Mercedes (111 points). With his first podium of the year, obtained by Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (78 points) sticks to Red Bull (89 points). Williams (25 points) recovers 5th place thanks to the double finish in the points in Saudi Arabia.

This ranking includes the generation that was supposed to take the reins of F1: Verstappen, Russell, Norris, Leclerc. But as Lauda, Piquet, and Senna did before, some unexpected youngsters are entering the fray and could well beat them all: Piastri and Antonelli.
