We are only at the 2nd meeting of the season and Ferrari is already making engine changes. There Team has decided to install new components on its two single-seaters ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. If changes were expected for Charles Lecler's carc, it is more surprising to see a new engine on the car Carlos Sainz. The Italian team preferred not to take any risks and make a “precautionary” change.

Thus, the two Scuderia drivers will use a second internal combustion engine (ICE), out of the three permitted throughout the season. Charles Leclerc will also have a 2nd MGU-H and a 3rd electronic box (CE). It is this last part which earned him a penalty of 10 places on the starting grid on Sunday, in Jeddah, since only two ECs are authorized per season.

Among other changes, McLaren will install several new components on the car de Lando Norris : a 2nd engine (ICE), a 2nd MGU-H, a 2nd MGU-K, a 2nd turbocharger (TC), a 2nd set of exhausts (EX). The Briton remains within the quotas for the season and is not sanctioned. Sergio Pérez also uses a 2nd electronic unit (CE) as well as a 2nd battery (ES) and a 2nd gearbox, without suffering a penalty.
