Toro Rosso and its engine manufacturer Honda are already engaged in the race to manage the elements of the Japanese Power Unit on the eve of the second Grand Prix of the season this weekend in Bahrain.
After the MGU-H problem encountered by Pierre Gasly in Australia, Honda also discovered damage to the thermal engine, requiring the replacement of these two elements, but also the turbo. The MGU-H and the turbo were modified by Honda after analyzing the data collected in Melbourne.
Toro Rosso will also replace the turbo and MGU-H on the car de Brendon Hartley, “as a precautionary measure” as Honda indicates.
Please note that the 2018 sporting regulations limit the number of thermal, turbo and MGU-H engines that can be used during the season to three.
