Already at the forefront during the first practice session, Charles Leclerc set the best time of the first day of testing in Budapest.

Charles Leclerc concludes the day in the lead

Charles Leclerc established the best time of the day with the Ferrari on supersoft tires with a reference time of 1'17''746 and a total of 98 laps. Winner of the morning, Stoffel Vandoorne settles for a 2nd time less than a tenth from the Monegasque.

Both Mercedes de Valtteri Bottas and George Russell rank 3e and 4e, the Finn being the one having completed the most laps with 155 loops dedicated to testing the 2018 Pirelli prototypes. The Englishman is the young driver to have driven the most with 119 laps on the clock.

Lance stroll also racked up mileage with 138 laps covered for a fifth time overall. He is ahead of the Russian Nikita mazepin on Force India. Nicholas latifi place it Renault in 7. e position.

In difficulty in the morning and having caused a red flag for mechanical problems, Sean Gelael established 8e time with the Toro Rosso and places himself in front of Lucas Auer who, for his first in F1, signs on 9e time with Force India.

Santino Ferrucci makes the 10e performance with the Haas before Max Verstappen blocked in the morning by an engine problem. Gustav Malja brings up the rear with Sauber.

Wednesday will see the arrival of Robert Kubica at the wheel of the Renault. Pierre Gasly will take Max Verstappen's place at Red Bull et Lando Norris will debut in the McLaren. Luca Ghiotto will drive for the first time in F1 with Williams and Nobuharu Matsushita will conclude Sauber testing.
