Present for several years in the fold Ferrari, Charles Leclerc lived up to expectations for his first season with the Scuderia last year. Two victories, including a prestigious success at Monza on the grounds of the Prancing Horse firm, seven poles and a fourth place in the Drivers' standings.
A roll of honor which allows the Monegasque to finish ahead of his illustrious teammate Sebastian Vettel. However, the campaign was not easy internally, with the tension between the two teammates becoming more and more intense as the races progressed, notably with contact in Brazil.
Asked about his first season in red by his fans on Instagram, Leclerc believes he has learned one important element above all.
« I think patience, indicates the Ferrari driver. Patience is something that is really important and something I struggled with in the past. But I learned with Ferrari that I had to have this look.
You can't have everything perfectly and sometimes you have to have patience to learn from the best, from Seb (Vettel), from the team and things take time to fall into place. I was a little impatient before. »
The clash, once the 2020 season begins, will certainly be one to watch closely.
