Charles Pic: “I have always done well at the Hungaroring”

As the Hungarian Grand Prix approaches, which takes place this weekend, Charles Pic is confident. “As for my teammate (Giedo Van der Garde, Editor’s note), I have always done well at the Hungaroring and I like this circuit, he explains on its official website. The city of Budapest is magnificent and the route is a great challenge, especially in sector 2 which must be negotiated well, with a good pace, to achieve a competitive time.”

After having provided the essentials during the last two Grands Prix in England and Germany, each time finishing ahead of his teammate and the rival Caterhams, the Drômois is optimistic. Especially since he got good sensations when making contact with the new Pirelli tires, tested last week during the Youth Tests in Great Britain. “The new tires tested at Silverstone should suit us because they are more consistent over ?runs? long and short, and their degradation is easier to manage than that of the tires we have had since the start of the season”, confides Pic again. After last week's testing, we are well prepared and if we have the same level of performance as during the German Grand Prix, before the puncture, I think we will be competitive. » In difficult conditions, after a 5-place penalty on the starting grid and a puncture during the race at the Nürburgring, Charles Pic still managed to finish 17th, one place ahead of his Dutch teammate.

“It will be another busy week for the team heading to Hungary directly from Silverstone, after this race all the staff will finally be able to rest a little and recharge their batteries,
he concludes.
