Too far behind the leading quartet, a good lead over their pursuers. At the dawn of attacking the second semester, Aston Martin finds himself in a no man's land and with no real direction on the horizon. Obviously, the main objective is to improve but the margin unfortunately seems too great to compete against Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes and even Ferrari at present.
A situation which could push the green management to kindly turn towards the 2025 season, as is often customary when a team can no longer hope too much for the second part. But on the other side of the Channel, this possibility is not on the agenda. Far from it!
If the first developments introduced at Imola did not allow Aston Martin to move forward, those seen from Hungary last July brought greater satisfaction internally. Enough to still have hope for this final sprint.
« Further developments are planned for the AMR24 during the second half of the season, before everyone switches to the 2025 car, traffic team principal Mike Krack. We must be realistic, taking into account the gaps in front and behind us. We are not giving up on 2024, but 2025 will soon be at the center of our concerns. A somewhat tongue-in-cheek speech because it is very likely that most of the resources are already devoted to the future AMR25 which will be an improved version, we hope, of the AMR24 for a 5-way battle next year...
