At Red Bull, the rise of McLaren worries 

On the shores of the North Sea this Sunday the party was orange again but not to celebrate a new victory of Max Verstappen this time. Undefeated on his land in three editions, the Dutchman saw the Papayas of McLaren spoil the celebrations in front of his family. 

The fault of one Lando Norris incisive and above all an MCL38 which once again very well received the developments. The brake ducts, the suspensions, make it flat... Everything the Woking training introduced in Zandvoort worked and above all dampened the hopes of Super Max and Red Bull. Because this time, the Briton won with more than 20 seconds, a bit like his rival has had the habit of disgusting the competition in recent seasons. 

In the opposing clan, there was no question of hiding or making excuses. It was quickly admitted that there was a real gap, impossible to bridge over the course of a weekend. “ It was pretty clear we weren't fast enough, confessed Max Verstappen, satisfied to have escaped with 2nd place at the end. I tried to do my own race… but that was my race, and it was a 2nd place » 

On the other side of the garage, Sergio Pérez recognized this lack of rhythm, glaring against the McLaren which does not seem to know any limit to progress unlike the Red Bull which is showing the blow. “ This is something we didn't expect, slips Checo. I thought we would be much closer to the McLarens (...) So there is a lot to understand (...) We'll see what the situation is like at Monza, but it's definitely scary to see what McLaren is capable of doing right now.. » Is the balance of power being reversed? Possibly, but one thing is certain, this second part of the season promises to be more than lively.
