Chilton aims to take advantage of changes in 2014

The goal for Marussia F1 Team is to follow the trend of 2013 by maintaining the advantage over Caterham while seeking to get closer to the mid-grid teams. The renewal of Max Chilton alongside Jules Bianchi should offer a certain stability in order to envisage the first points scored by the team. “That’s clearly our goal. You have to aim high without being unrealistic”, commented the Briton on Sky Sports Online. “I think that with these new regulations, little is needed to progress and little can bring down the top teams. I think it will be quite mixed during the first races. »

Max Chilton has every reason to be optimistic since his next car will no longer be powered by Cosworth but by a 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6 Ferrari. “We all know that Ferrari makes fantastic cars and that Scuderia Ferrari makes fabulous engines in F1. I think it will perform as we expect when we take to the track in Jérez.”, added Jules Bianchi’s teammate. “I know the team very well after 2012 and 2013 and it’s not a big team. It is made up of 200 people while some have 600 or 700. So we feel a great family spirit. Continuity is the essential element and it will be very useful to keep the same crew. This way we can spend our time developing the car as quickly as possible instead of starting to get to know each other as is the case elsewhere. »
