It's the end of a soap opera that animated the paddock and the first days of this 2024 season of F1. Targeted since the beginning of February by an investigation for inappropriate behavior towards an employee of Red Bull, revealed by our colleagues from the Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Christian Horner finally knows the verdict.

Three weeks after the opening and less than 24 hours before the first race weekend of the year in Bahrain (February 29-March 2), the main English team was cleared. It was the Red Bull group which announced the news this Wednesday confirming the rumors which appeared a few hours earlier according to which Christian Horner would be kept in his position.

« Independent investigation into allegations against Mr Horner completed, we can read in the press release from Red Bull GmbH. Red Bull can confirm that the complaint has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal. (The group) Red Bull is confident that the investigation was conducted in a fair, thorough and impartial manner. The investigation report is confidential and contains private information about the parties and third parties who participated in the investigation, therefore we will not make further comments out of respect for everyone involved. Red Bull will continue to strive for the highest standards of working environment »

Definitely freed from his extra-sporting affairs, Christian Horner will be present on the wall this weekend for the Bahrain Grand Prix, scene of the start of the 2024 F1 season. Still in the shoes of the main team of the Austrian team which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in the industry, the 20th with the Englishman at the helm of the ship. Something to reassure all those who demanded a quick response.

Christian H. will therefore be able to continue scrapping with his best friend in the paddock, Toto W.! Who benefits from this story in the end?

“It’s the end of a soap opera” Not at all, it may just be the end of the first episode! because, "The complainant has a right of appeal" for the moment the justice is not seized, if it becomes so, therefore if there is filing of a complaint in due form, this will be another pair of sleeves. There, RB is judge and party since lawyer mandated by RB, and it takes a hell of a dose of arrogance to publish: "(The group) Red Bull is convinced that the investigation was carried out in a fair, rigorous and impartial manner" in at the very least it's damn practical!

This will reassure those in the paddock, starting with Liberty Media and Ford Motor Company. It would be interesting to know if it wasn't a plot hatched against CH, anything being possible in this backwater of sharks!
