Christian Horner: “Time is running out”

The TV series Red Bull Racing will have animated a large part of the second half of the season in Formula 1. Still unknown as to the identity of the engine supplier for 2016 and the future in his team's discipline, Christian Horner reminds on the F1 website that the next few weeks will be decisive.

“It’s the beginning of November and hurry up. It is therefore important to have a decision in the relatively near future. We have imagined four versions of the car, and there will be only one engine. We'll wait until the music stops and see which chair we'll sit on. » Horner also indicated that his pilots Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat will logically be present in 2016.

The Red Bull Racing Team Principal also returned to the possibility of the arrival of a new low-cost customer engine, a study recently launched by the FIA, following a veto from Ferrari on a ceiling price for customer engines and gearboxes.

“I think the FIA concept is a fairly simple engine, which would be easy to have through a third party company such as Ilmor or Cosworth. The key question is: what will the regulations be, and could this be considered as an option for Red Bull? We believe it but, of course, the engine must be competitive. And it must be profitable. »
