In pole position for the 12th time of the season in Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen imposed himself in front Charles Leclerc and George Russell this Sunday. A 19th victory to crown the season of all records for him. A 54th success which allows him to overtake Sebastian Vettel in career.
Crowned world champion in the Sprint Race in Qatar, the driver Red Bull ends the year with 575 units. Sergio Pérez, penalized and falling to 4th after the checkerboard, finished far back with only 285 units, or 290 less than his teammate.
The fight for 4th place which concerned Fernando Alonso, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris et Carlos Sainz turned to the advantage of the first city, 7th in Yas Marina. Although tied on points with Leclerc (206), his greater number of podiums (8 against 6) ensures him a better position. The big loser is Carlos Sainz who falls to 7th place, 6 lengths behind his compatriot.
As for the Frenchies, Pierre Gasly wins the internal duel at Alpine. The Normand is in 11th place, just ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon which he beat by 4 points.
Among the constructors, Red Bull hit the nail on the head with a 21st victory in 22 races. Only one will have finally escaped the Austrians who will leave Mpyen-Orient with 860 units on their counter. Mercedes Benz managed to maintain his 2nd place in front Classic Ferrari for sale to secure the title of vice-champion.
