Colapinto, Doohan or another: which driver for Alpine in 2026?

After Jack Doohan was replaced by Franco Colapinto for the next five Grands Prix, everything remains open as to who will accompany Pierre Gasly at Alpine in 2026. Here is a non-exhaustive list of potential candidates.

We've been waiting for months for Franco Colapinto to be "established". His arrival as a reserve driver at Alpine, during the winter, was not innocent and everyone saw through the game of the arrowed A. With the Argentinian, the French team has acquired a popular driver, especially in South America, with a good top speed displayed during his half-season with Williams in 2024 and many sponsors who support it.

For now, the new driver Alpine has five Grands Prix to prove his worth and do better than Jack Doohan. To do better will mean scoring points and driving in the time trials of Pierre GaslyIf he succeeds, there is no doubt that he will remain
