The International Automobile Federation is in fact using a basic package system for any holder of the Super Licence, and who will take part in the 2025 season of Formula 1. According to Speedcafe, this amount, which is constantly increasing, this time amounts to €11. This is the sum that the rookies of the coming season must pay to obtain their Super Licence. However, this will only be the case for Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto and Jack Doohan, because in addition to the basic package, each driver pays an additional amount based on the number of points he has scored during the 453 season.

With €2 per point, still according to Speedcafé, the amounts can quickly soar and this is how the 313 champion, Max Verstappen, is expected to pay more than €2023 million to renew his Super Licence. However, this is a sum that is much lower than the amount he had to pay at the end of his record-breaking 1,3 season, when his Super Licence cost him almost €XNUMX million. Second in the championship, Lando Norris sees an increase in the price of his Super License, with the 374 points he scored in 2024, his sesame will now cost him more than 876 euros.

These costs are generally amortized by the team, which takes them into account in the payment planned for the season's registration fees, which are also based on a flat rate supplemented by a price per points scored during the previous season. It is the FIA that collects these sums, which also announced this Friday that it had made a profit of 2,2 million euros over the past year. This is a far cry from the loss of 24 million recorded in 2021, at the start of Mohammed Ben Sulayem's mandate as president of the world body.

Beyond the team registration fees and the super license (amounts collected by the FIA), the FIA announced that it had made a profit of €2,2 million in 2024. Perhaps enough to pay professional race stewards for F1 and the WEC?

And what does the FIA do with all the money it collects? I have never seen the slightest initiative from this institution whose usefulness is in doubt.
