How much do drivers earn – Alonso and Hamilton in the lead

There are now two of them who reign at the top of this ranking. Fernando Alonso et Lewis Hamilton are the highest paid pilots in the Formula 1, according to a calculation established by the Business Book GP 2013 and revealed by tomorrownewsf1. With his time at Mercedes this year, the 2008 world champion obtained a significant salary increase which allows him to earn 20 million euros per year, at the same level as his Spanish counterpart at Ferrari.

In third place is Jenson Button. The pilot McLaren, titled in 2009, receives nearly 16 million euros per year. Triple reigning world champion, Sébastian Hag is in fourth place, with 12 million euros. After being paid at the same level as Mark Webber for years, the German sees his salary exceed that of his teammate for the first time, with the Australian receiving 10 million euros in 2013. Between the two men is Nico Rosberg , with 11 million annually. Note that Felipe Massa agreed to be paid 40% less this season, and earned 6 million in 2013. This is still more than Kimi Räikkönen, who is employed on the basis of 3 million euros per year, to which must be added a bonus per point registered valued at 40 euros, or 000 million euros per victory.

In total, 12 drivers receive at least 1 million euros this year, with Sergio Pérez, Romain Grosjean, Pastor Maldonado and Nico Hulkenberg. The Business Book GP also calculated that the average salary of a driver was 4,8 million euros in 2013, which is 540 euros less than in 000.
