For those who still doubted Max Verstappen is definitely an alien. The Dutchman in fact left an engineer DTM totally incredulous after a test he carried out in the German series, at the wheel of the Ferrari 296 DTM of Thierry Vermeulen at Mugello, without us knowing when exactly this test took place.

In a Viaplay documentary titled “Verstappen – Off The Beaten Track”, Emil Frey Racing engineer Graziano Michelacci spoke about what he saw of Max Verstappen on track behind the wheel of the car normally driven by Vermeulen .

“I usually know what to expect from certain drivers, but this was really unexpected”, Michelacci said in the documentary. “He improved his lap times in a way that doesn’t exist in real life. Even if you expect something like this from Verstappen, you are still surprised. »

And the engineer continued: “It’s stories like that that you share later when you’re on the road with your friends in a van” he was satisfied. The usual driver of the car was also quite amazed because he saw the three-time world champion of Formula 1.

“Everyone can do a fast lap at some point, but he can do it so quickly”, did he declare. “Even though he's dealing with a new car, he can work around the problems and use all his talent and experience to be fast right away. » From Max Verstappen in the text.
