2016 contract: Kimi Räikkönen sees red

Kimi Räikkönen got carried away in the paddock of the Austrian GP this Thursday, June 18 when it was mentioned the extension of his contract with the Team Ferraris in 2016. The latest rumors published by La Gazzetta dello Sport notably mentioned a 25% drop in his annual salary of 12 million euros.

“None of you know what my contract says and you never will. These are the things you throw around all the time, but I'm fine if you keep writing them. I have a contract, they have to sign it, it’s that simple.”, launched the 2007 world champion to the press, before taking the author of the latest speculations to task. “You don’t know my contract but you’re writing about it… Maybe you should start writing sensible things. »

Kimi Räikkönen has clarified that he does not see his future in any other team than Scuderia Ferrari. “If I don't stay at Ferrari, I won't be in any team anymore... You seem more worried than me on the subject. I always said it wouldn’t be the end of my life if I didn’t ride next year, but I really want to stay…”, confirmed the Finn.
